Ep 56 Star Trek Into Darkness: Do You Expect Us To Talk?

The Starship DYEUTT reaches what is the probably the worst revived films in the franchise according to Star Trek fans. While we enjoyed ourselves while shaking our heads at the stupidity of last week, this week stretch our heads as the cracks of stupid begin to revival itself even more. As Kirk gets the ship taken off of him only to get the ship back literally 5 minutes afterwards (a flippant guess but probably not far off), Kirk gets orders from Robocop a attack mission to kill Khan.. I mean John Harrison in a film that involves people frozen in missals and magic blood.

Star Wars fan JJ Abrams takes us back to Jim Kirk on his first adventure on board the Enterprise with a different  twist. This time the timeline has been disrupted by a Romulian ship from the future and a new timeline starts.

As ever as it’s Star Trek. Becca, Dave and Chris are joined by Charlie as we bitch and complain about a film we find gets everything wrong but somehow we all enjoy and like. This time the crew stand by their pricables and go against their prime directive and protect a small populated planet that has miraculous healing and ani aging factors. Natually a bad guy with bad plastic surgery is after what they got and wants to turf them out to take the power for himself.

One i time travel invoving time travel and ensuring an event that courses earth to make first contact with an alien speices making the fedration possible. The other is the enterprise fighting for survial as The Borg take over the ship as they plan to stop mankind from espablishing first contact making earth easy pray for assimilation.

Listen as Becca, Dave, Chris and Charlie discuss whether this is one really is one of the franchises best. We delve into Picard going all full McClane in the ship, why The Borg has a queen, how the plot makes little sense and Tori being drunk.

Not without the help of a certain toupeed over actor of course.

As the crew of the USS Expect Us To Talk reach it’s final voyage with the original cast of Star Trek before a new crew take charge, Kirk and co try to make peace with the Klingons. However, when the Klingon ambassador is assassinated and the enterprise is seemingly to blame for the attack, Spock must figure out what happened as Kirk sands trail and peace is lost forever.

Join Becca, Dave, Chris and guest Charlie as we big farewell to Kirk and the gang as they go out with a bang. This installment has all the right ingredients, epic space battle, Nicholas Meyer returning, Shatner angry, a villain quoting Shakespear and of course an appearance from Christian Slater.
